45-minute group psychotherapy sessions usually occur twice a week and are facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Just like individual sessions, group psychotherapy sessions provide clients with a non-judgmental environment, but they gain the additional benefit from working through issues with the support of peers in their community. With regular attendance and participation in the group setting, we have observed that our clients benefit from the:
- Increased socialization and connection with peers
- Reduction in isolation and withdrawal
- Improved social and communication skills
- Support and encouragement from peers experiencing similar issues
- Opportunity to learn new coping skills from peers
